History

Sunny Smiles Kids Dentistry is the full-service pediatric practice of Dr. Jacquelyn K. Do. The original practice name, Sunny Smiles, was created in New York City in 2006 when Dr. Jackie first started dreaming of owning her own practice. Her vision was to build a practice themed around "sunny" cities in America, one of which being San Diego, California.

Fast forward to the start of 2012... Sunny Smiles KIDS finds its new name and new home nested among the flowing palm trees of Del Mar. The office started construction in July of 2012 and opened its doors that following November.

Inspired by Dr. Jackie's fond childhood memories of going to the fair, the office features a fun and inviting carnival theme to make kids and their parents feel at ease about visiting the dentist. Combining fun with the most progressive and personalized care, Sunny Smiles Kids welcomes you!

She soon after moved to New York City to attend dental school, complete her residency and work in private practice. After living thirteen years in Manhattan, Dr. Jackie relocated back to California to be closer to her family and sunny weather.

Dr. Jackie is a specialist in pediatric dentistry and has been certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been providing excellent care in private practice since 2003. Her specialty training began at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. During this time, she was awarded for her excellence and achievements in the field of pediatric dentistry by both the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Society of Dentistry for Children, honors traditionally given to one recipient each, per graduating year.

On any given day, Dr. Jackie can be found doing yoga, running along the beach, hiking in the mountains or perusing online for her next new restaurant experience. She is passionate about giving back to her community and in participating in charity events. A few things at the top of her bucket list are to travel to Vietnam on a dental outreach, start mountain biking, sign up for surf lessons, and learn how to make cake pops.
